Therapy for all your needs in early motherhood
Specialities
NICU Experience
Having a child spend any time in the NICU can be very difficult and puts individuals at a higher risk for developing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. You may be feeling a mixture of emotions that can be overwhelming especially during a time where most of your focus is on the health of your baby. Taking time for therapy allows you to fully process a very stressful time. I utilize narrative therapy to help clients fully process the NICU experience whether your child is currently in the NICU or you are transitioning home. I have a special understanding of the NICU experience as a former NICU mom myself.
Postpartum
After giving birth, there are many new things to navigate for your baby including feedings, sleep, and overall well-being, but don’t forget about taking care of yourself. You may be feeling increased anxiety or feelings of depression, anger, loneliness, and suffering relationship difficulties. In the beginning journey of motherhood, it is crucial that you get the support you need to manage these feelings. Through the use of solution focused therapy, mindfulness techniques, and cognitive behavioral therapy, I can help you navigate your feelings and thoughts. Together we can look at your goals and help you move forward.
